CAROTID ANGIOGRAPHY AND STENTING
is a procedure performed in the cath lab where a catheter is placed into the carotid arteries to look for blockages. If blockages are confirmed these can be treated with stents instead of traditional carotid artery surgery. This prevents future strokes. Most patients are able to return home same day
After a peripheral angiography, we will look at the results to determine what sort of procedure will be best for you. Stents are small steel mesh tubes that can be placed inside an artery during an angioplasty procedure. Atherectomy is a minimally invasive endovascular surgery technique for removing atherosclerosis from blood vessels within the body. It is an alternative to angioplasty for the treatment of peripheral artery disease.
ABDOMINAL AORTIC ANEURYSM REPAIR – ENDOVASCULAR
Endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair is surgery to repair a widened area in your aorta called an aneurysm. In this procedure, a small surgical cut is made near the groin, to find the femoral artery and insert a stent and a man-made graft. Using X-rays, we guide the stent graft to where the aneurysm is located and open the stent using a spring-like mechanism. It attaches to the walls of the aorta so your aneurysm will eventually shrink around it.
